Check-in Times
You are required to be checked at least 30 minutes before departure of your domestic flights. If you are connecting to an International flight, please check in at least 60 minutes prior to the departure of your domestic flight. Please remember to bring some form of Identification with you.
The Airport Terminal building opens at 4:30 am Monday to Friday, and at 5:00 am on
Saturday and at 6.00 am on Sunday.
You can check in using the check-in kiosk machines or check-in desks.

Disabled Access / Special Assistance
Invercargill Airport has facilities to ensure that even mobility-challenged passengers can
travel with ease. Wheelchairs are available and Airline staff would be happy to help in this
regard.
If you require special assistance in relation to a flight, please contact Air New Zealand
directly.
Mobility parks are available for vehicles with a valid disability card. Please refer to the car park map to see where they are.
The washroom for mobility-challenged passengers is next to the ladies washroom.
Blue Star taxis have mobility vans with facilities for wheelchair users.
Luggage Storage
Air NZ does not have storage facilities for luggage and travel related items including bikes and sports equipment, at this airport.
Freighting Excess Baggage
Air NZ Freight can be contacted regarding freight of baggage etc. For preliminary inquiries please provide the destination also the weight in kg and measurements (length x width x height) in cm for each item.

Baggage Trolleys
Baggage trolleys are available throughout the airport at no cost.
Banks, Currency Exchange and ATM
There are no currency exchange facilities or banks at the Airport.
There is an ATM machine available across from the public toilet block in the Terminal. The ATM dispenses NZ Dollars only.
Travellex
Foreign currency can easily be exchanged at banks, New Zealand Post shops, some hotels and Bureau de Change. All major credit cards can be used in New Zealand. Travellers Cheques are accepted at hotels, banks and some stores.
Banks in Invercargill include: ANZ, Westpac, ASB, BNZ and National Bank and Kiwi Bank
Most banks have some foreign currency on hand, but for larger amounts or during peak
holiday times it would be wise to allow for banks to order in currency overnight.
Lost & Found
Items that have been lost and found within the airport terminal building are stored with our airport administration team. It is our policy to keep unclaimed items for 3 months. Thereafter it will be donated to a local charity.

Baby changing and nursing facilities are available opposite the main public toilets in the Terminal.
Customer Service Staff
Invercargill Airport has customer service staff working in the parking area and in the terminal. They ensure that the drop-off zone does not become congested, help with parking issues and other enquiries.

Check-in
Stewart Island Flights is located in the main terminal at Invercargill Airport. Turn left as you enter the terminal building.
Baggage
Baggage allowance is 15kg per person. Excess baggage may be deferred until a later flight. We can store unnecessary baggage free of charge.

There is a car park at the airport terminal monitored with security cameras.

Transport from Stewart Island airfield to Oban
A courtesy van will meet you off the aeroplane, pick up your bags, and transfer you to our depot on the waterfront in Halfmoon Bay. Many of the motels and lodges will pick you up from the depot.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation more than 48 hours prior to departure time will incur a cancellation fee of 20% of the fare. Cancellation within 48 hours of departure will incur forfeiture of the full fare. Application for refund will be assessed on a case by case basis.
Flight time
Flight time to and from Invercargill to Stewart Island is 20 minutes, please allow 30 minutes for connections.
